Septilin (Tablets & Syrup)

Septilin (Tablets & Syrup) Indications, Uses, Benefits & Side Effects

Septilin is a highly effective Ayurvedic medication used for treating several infective disorders. It is a herbo-mineral formulation containing medicinal plants that possess powerful immunomodulatory properties, which aid in strengthening the functions of the immune system and thereby preventing infections. The herbs used in this medicine have been well proven for their action in treating infections.

Indications, Benefits & Uses

Septilin mainly works by allowing the immune system to attacks and destroy the pathogenic bacteria and viruses. The health benefits of using this medicine are given below:

Prevents Infections

The weakening of the immune system, which is the body’s main line of defense against bacteria and viruses, usually results in several infective disorders. The common quick relief methods used for treating these infections only ease the symptoms temporarily, but don’t provide any preventative benefits. However, Septilin helps in building up the body’s defense mechanism and prevents these infections.

Septilin contains many medicinal herbs, which have the ability to modulate the response of the immune system against the infection-causing organisms. The strong immunomodulatory properties of this medicine help in strengthening the immune system, and enable it to destroy the bacteria, viruses, and parasites causing infections. It provides a strong immune protection to the body resulting in optimum health. It has been found to promote phagocytosis, a process by which the harmful organisms are engulfed by the immune cells so that they can be eliminated from the body. This action helps in a rapid cure from an infection. It also improves the white blood cell count, which plays a major role in fighting the germs. It also enhances the white blood cell functions making them stronger in fighting the organisms. It also has the ability to potentiate the non-specific immune response of the body.

Allergic diseases

Septilin helps to cope with the allergens by strengthening the natural immune response of the body. It helps to build resistance against allergens thus preventing the attacks of allergic diseases like asthma, atopic dermatitis, eczema, and allergic rhinitis.

Taking Septilin on a regular basis can build the body’s immunity against dust, smoke, pollutants, deodorants, detergents, and several other allergens and prevent a heightened response of the body against them thereby providing relief from allergic diseases.

Respiratory tract infections

Septilin is used for the prevention of recurrent infections in the respiratory tract like common cold, tonsillitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, and sinusitis.

Urinary tract infections

Septilin can also be used in the treatment of infections in the urinary tract. It relieves the symptoms of urinary tract infections like burning while urinating, cloudy urine, and painful urination.

Skin infections

Septilin is useful in the treatment and prevention of skin infections like abscesses, and ulcers. The use of this medicine is beneficial for preventing infections at the surgical site. Hence, it is commonly prescribed to the patients during the postoperative period.

Fever

Septilin possesses antipyretic properties, which help in reducing fever caused due to infective conditions like chronic tonsillitis, bronchitis, pharyngitis, urinary tract infections, nasal catarrh (inflammation of the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract), and laryngitis.

Septilin Usage Instructions

The usual starting dose of Septilin for adults is 2 tablets, once or twice a day. The dose can be lowered to 1 tablet, twice a day once the symptoms are controlled. Patients can continue taking the maintenance dose on a regular basis even after the infection has subsided to reduce the risk of re-infection. Children can be given this medicine in a dose of 1 tablet, twice a day. The dose may be modified in accordance with the specific condition to be treated.

Ayurvedic medications are usually slow in showing results due to their action at a holistic level. They also have a slower rate of absorption due to which the results may take a longer time to become noticeable. Hence, patients are advised to continue taking Septilin for a longer period to derive maximum health benefits.

Patients should inform the doctor about the intake of other medications, whether herbal, allopathic, homeopathic or Ayurvedic before they start using Septilin.

There are no known side effects of Septilin. This medicine is prepared from pure herbs and contains no chemicals. Hence, it is considered safe to use. When used in a high dose, it may cause a mild burning sensation in the stomach along with nausea and vomiting. However, these symptoms are temporary and resolve spontaneously within a few days.

During pregnancy, it is best to avoid this medicine unless advised by a doctor. During lactation, it can be used in lower doses, based on the doctor’s advice. This medicine might not be suitable for the people with severe gastritis.
