Amritadi Guggulu is an ayurvedic medication used for the treatment of joint disorders. It is a guggul-based herbal medication. The use of this medicine is recommended for the patients suffering from gout, wounds, skin diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, and constipation.

HOW IT WORKS

Amritadi Guggulu helps in treating joint diseases like gout and arthritis by acting as a natural Uricosuric and anti-inflammatory agent. It also produces an analgesic effect and provides relief from pain. The antibacterial effect of this medicine helps to prevent skin infections. It also acts as a carminative and laxative to provide relief from flatulence, and constipation.

RECOMMENDED DOSAGE

The recommended dose of Amritadi Guggulu for adult men is 15 to 30 milligrams per kg body weight. Women can use it in a dose of 12.5 to 25 milligrams per kg body weight.  The maximum recommended dose per day is 10 grams. However, sometimes, it is prescribed in a higher dose of 500 to 2000 milligrams, two or three times a day. The pediatric dose of this medicine is 10 to 20 milligrams per kg body weight for boys and 7.5 to 15 milligrams per kg body weight for girls.

Directions for Use

Patients should take the doses after food to avoid gastric upsets. It can be taken with a glass of warm milk or water.

Overdose Side Effects

Amritadi Guggulu can cause loose stools, and headache, especially when used in a higher dose. It may cause diarrhea and stomach upsets. An overdosage of this medicine may cause gastritis.
