Abha Guggulu is an ayurvedic herbal medication used for the treatment of bone and joint disorders. It can be used for the faster healing of fractures. It is also used to treat arthritis and osteoporosis.

Ingredients

Each 100 grams of Abha Guggulu contains the following ingredients:

  • Godanti Bhasma – 50 grams
  • Mukta Shukti Pishti – 25 grams
  • Praval Pishti – 25 grams
  • Ashwagandha Churna – 50 grams
  • Abhrak Bhasma – 10 grams
  • Jasad Bhasma – 5 grams
  • Amla Churna – 25 grams

Abha Guggulu facilitates the repair of a fractured bone by stimulating the proliferative processes in the body. It also improves the appetite, and promotes the absorption of nutrients from the foods, thus supporting the bone healing.

It acts as a natural bone healing agent. It produces anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. Its anti-osteoporotic and anti-arthritic effects can protect the bones against several diseases.

Things to Know

The preparation of Abha Guggulu involves adding Shuddha Guggulu in a mortar along with a small quantity of Ghee. It is mixed and grounded properly. Then, the fine powders of the other ingredients of Abha Guggul are added. The mixture is used to make tablets of 500 mg each.

Recommended Dosage

The recommended dosage of Abha Guggulu for adults is 1 to 2 grams a day. Children can be administered a dose of 250 mg to 1 gram a day. The maximum recommended dosage of this medication is 6 grams per day.

Directions for Use

Abha Guggulu should be taken in 2 or 3 equally divided doses every day. The doses can be taken twice a day after breakfast and dinner or thrice a day after breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It is advisable to take the doses 1 hour after food. It should preferably be taken with warm milk or warm water.
